New From Zone

Can someone please enlighten me here about this place? After playing on the Zone and Cases Ladder for a number of years this is quite a change for me and some others I know. Rather enjoyable place to play I have found out. Now this inquiring mind would like a bit of feedback.

1)Does anyone ever chat during a game or is it just click the cards and play? I haven't exactly found too many over eager to say Hello or Good Luck!
2) What is the meaning of TIX, $, Etc. ?
3) How does one check his or her stats in here?
4) How many games do most play against the same opponent?

I had a bunch more to ask but I went braindead when I started this post. LMAO

First welcome to Game Colony I hope you enjoy it here I will try my best to answer your questions
1. Yes some players do chat here. I have found that at night they seem to be a bit more talkative.
2. Tix = tickets. Tickets can be purchased starting at $5.95. Tickets will get you into tourneys and will allow you to play tickets against other players. They are equivalent to 1 US dollar for each 1 ticket in you account
3. You can check your stats by double clicking on your name in the main room or on a table. You can also check other players stats by double clicking on their name.
4. To each is own some play best 2 out of 3 , some more, some play till the lose.

I hope this helped some
Have a great day

I too have come from the Zone having played there for 7 years. In Game Colony, some players chat and some do not. I don't think any offence is meant but some just want to play without the chat! In the Zone it has become terrible. Players sit at their tables and will not play. They also chat 'till it drives you insane! Name calling, arguments, whatever. I much prefer Game Colony and am glad I now play in this venue.

I started at the Village which became the Zone, so between then I would say 9-10 years. I have been a member at Game Colony for about 4 years.

There are many great folks here at Game Colony. They have great TDs at the tourneys also. I think that even thought there is not the 'chatter' you are use to at the Zone, you will find that most folks are real nice.

Cribbage at Game Colony is unique in that there is the option for manual scoring as oppose to having your scores counted for you. This really separates the men from the boys! (no sexism intended).

Another great feature is "Contact Us". Use this for questions, compliments, suggestions, and the idenfication of the occasional anomoly. You will get two replies, one letting you know your contact was received, then a personalized follow-up. When was the last time anyone from the Zone responded to a member?

Remember.... Every site has its own look and feel, it is not wrong, just different.

Happy Pegs,

Bob 'Moojus' Milk

I like to chat when playing, but as you can see, Gamecolony does not have the same chat facilities as Zone, thank god and you need to click onto the box to enable the chat. Well, me being a bit senile, lol, I sometimes get carried away typing like mad and have forgotten to click the box, or moved a card and forget to reclick the box and the message looks gibberish, but then again I guess thats normal for me Anyways, welome, and hope to play you soon.

I also want to welcome you and all other Zone players to GAme Colony........I've been here for almost 2 years (well 2 in October lol) and not only do I enjoy playing AND directing tournaments, but I have made some true friends. My Game Colony family has been here through the birth of my last child, and a terrible trauma in my marriage last year. I am proud to be a part of this family, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I really hope we'll see u at tourneys - they are so much fun!!!!! I'll be watching for u in main hall too - care for a game?
Big welcome hugssssssssss - c u soon

Moojus indicated that Game Colony is very responsive to problems and I agree. Somehow I messed up my password and GC was able to fix it within the hour! I came from the zone too and had played there for almost 5 years. Not one time was I ever able to make contact with a real person to solve a problem. Nothing but pages and pages of "what if" answers.

Thank you GC! Crapud

I WOULD LIKE TO WELCOME YOU

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
