Interesting situation

Ok so this one's a first......and I feel like I want to address it, for all our new players and old, in case it comes up again No, Ma isn't mad or anything, just had an "interesting situation", that's all, in regard to the number of players needed to begin a tourney.
4 players are required for a normal prize(s) tourney........if only 3 are signed up, then the TD will wait until 5 min after the hour (just to be sure no one else is coming)....at that time the 3 players will vote as to whether or not to play "Winner Takes All" (single prize). If 4 or more players are signed up for the tourney, then the tourney should proceed as planned.......I don't feel like it would promote fair play if we were to be able to out players at the start time just because they don't want to play with a handful of players or certain players that are signed up.........if you sign up for a tourney, plan on playing in it UNLESS we don't get enough signed up.
Of course there are situations you can ask the TD to out you - if you are experiencing technical difficulties and feel they may delay the tourney or complicate it.......or if you have an emergency and have to go.......we understand things come up last minute....
However, most players sign up in the last 5 minutes before start time, which doesn't leave a lot of room for emergencies and technical difficulties, so I'm assuming these instances should be few and far between, and not the common rule.
If you sign up for a tourney, please show up on time and ready to play, regardless of who is signed up, or how many.......don't ask the TD in charge to out you just because....that isn't fair to other players. In some cases, where 4 have signed up, this could end up in a cancelled tourney if you want out, then EVERYONE misses out on the fun!
Thanks so much.........hope you didn't mind me bringing this up....was very confusing for me as the TD when 3 of my 5 players wanted out, and that just isn't how it works.....sorry
Hope you'll join me for tourneys - if there isn't enuf signed up, BRING A FRIEND!
Love you all - c u soon

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
