MAB,

Thank you for the posting. The American Cribbage Congress (ACC) is the world's largest organization for the promotion and support of cribbage. The ACC has over 7,000 members, predominately in the US and Canada. I know of ACC members in Great Britain, France, New Zealand, Australia, Israel, and Iraq. The ACC sanctions local, regional, national and international torunaments. the ACC also supports local cribbage clubs with it
s Grass Roots program, and even has a very active Grass Roots club with the servicemen in Iraq.

Recently, the ACC and Game Colony announced their partnership and support. The ACC will be holding ACC-sanctioned internet tournaments on Game Colony; announcements for the start-up of these ACC tournaments is expected very soon.

The ACC invites all Game Colony members to view the ACC website (www.cribbage.org) and submit any questions you may have about it.

I am on the Board of Directors for the ACC. I just want to make sure that you know this and understand I am not hiding this information from you. (This is posted on the ACC site).

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
