Old Version, Revived AGAIN

HELLO CANASTA TOURNEY PLAYERS....Good NEWS....

The best 2 of 3 game tourneys have returned.
and this is how they work.

They are single elimination.
Brackets are given as usual.
First player in pair sets the table.
*****After the first game is completed, the td gets a notice of the games winner, and the players will play another game with the same opponent. If the opponent wins the second game, a tiebreaking game is played....If the first winner prevails, the one player is dismissed and the winner of the 2/3 advances as usual.

Just remember, ..THE WAIT IS LONGER AND THE TOURNEY LASTS LONGER...

We ask that if you are a slower player, please try in all your best to speed up, even a little, to keep the flow of the tourney going smoothly. Even the slower players don't like the long waits. So if all work together, these can be really fun......And it gives all, time to get to know each other, if you have a bye or are waiting for an opponent.

Games will be 2500 2-2-1 3F/W pt settings, at least mine,

Come give these a try.....

I've only played in one of these tourneys, but I think that they are the best tourneys. Players, how many times have you played in a single elimination tourney and just got terrible cards? I know I have a number of times. The best 2 of 3 tourneys give you a chance to recover from a really bad first game--when you just get bad cards. I HOPE to see more of these tourneys in the future. And, canasta players come out and support the tourneys--whenever you can. Tourneys are great competition and loads of fun. Thank you. BlueSun

Thank you very much,Blue

Glad you came to these tourneys and truly enjoyed yourself.....you are correct, they are a lot of fun. It's even better than double elimination, especially for your tix entry fee. it's not just play one game and lose, and go home.....as you start, you at least get to play two games, if not more......

Thanks for your support Blue...and bring friends....these really are fun.....I will do the best I can in scheduling more...and hopefully the other tds will follow suit...

Btw, to all tourney players......thanks for your tourney support......We host for you..

I agree

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
