why do some people have to have a go at you while you are playing pool? they throw insults and remarks like " you are nothing, rubbish etc " i got called a clown and a joker the other day because i won a game! ( you know who you are )i did report them, just wondering if anybody else has had the same thing and what did you do about it? thank you - nick

It happens. I have been harassed!!! And we all know how sweet I am, lol. Mute them!!! Type the following: /m (playername).
I really wish people would chill out a bit.

Unfortunatly nick, there are some poor sports on any gaming site u will find. For the most part , this is the friendliest place i have found to play. I hope this one incident doesn't discourage u from sticking around. You did the right thing in ur situation. It has happened to most all of us who have been here any length of time. They should have sent u a reply with the mute code when u reported this person. If not , ask a veteran , they can tell you what it is, i forget which way the /\ goes lol. Like anything else in life, u have to take the good ( the overwhelming majority) with the bad ( the few ). I am sorry it happened, and it will prob happen again  , but keep ur chin up , keep shooting and just ignore the poor sports when u find them.

This site is supposed to be for FUN lol....but I know what u mean, I've encountered some like that as well. Just don't take it personally hon, some just can't play or lose well. And if you do use the mute function, be sure to follow up with a note to the Contact Us link on the left side of your main pages - Game Colony needs to know about your troubles, and why this player was muted, so they can prevent them from causing others grief.

Dont take any notice nick. You are one of the many pleasant players on here Im glad to say, the others, well no manners, no sense of fun. Keep enjoying the game, because thats all it is..... A GAME Jane.

Yes i agree some people are very rude when losing a game and there goes the name calling.And then there are those who's names are very rude also. like runpiggyrunrun,runfatcowrun,runratrun an many many more.So you can be harassed by some very small people as some one quoted.But this is a very good site,and for the most part you will findvery nice players as well.

hey i have to agree 100% with u nick there are alot of people who complain over one lose..cuz there rating is high and they dont want to lose there poor lilttle rating but my rating is 1956 and i dont complain when i lose...but anyway i agree 100% with u good post

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
