The saturday Nov 11th CANASTA Marathon was a fantastic success with 72 entries in 12 straight tournaments.Thank you all participants for playing and meeting new people as well.
New tournament players hawaiianangi1, mjsat2, tgheyward, SKYFISH,kayr3 and andykraus joined the "FUN" and we thank you.
Congratulations as well to our winner of the 25 bonus tix. For every tournament entered each player received a draw entry which was drawn after the last tournament. Entering all 12 tournaments and therefore deserving of the 25 tix was BlueSun. WTG-you earned the multiple chances!
As well as participating in all 12 tournaments, BlueSun won a fantastic 5 of them and battled ergue for the ladder #1 ladder spot all day. They alternated several times and ergue also had a great day winning 3 of the 7 he entered. Other winners of the tourneys included newcomer SKYFISh, veterans CharmedOnes, Makulitr8, and WhiteTiger4872.
Special thanks also go to the TDs who hosted these events with special mention to MrTimmy who hosted 5 of them. FunGames hosted 3 of them (TY) and it was a pleasure watching the exciting happenings. GAJD3, Gr8, Flower and SCOPEMAN all helped out with one each.
TY so much to all and see you all at the next tournament.

Thank you for the kind comments Fun, but I was VERY LUCKY in some of the tourneys. Ergue is a terrific player as are CharmedOnes, Makulitr8, PrettyDanie, Tgheyward, WhiteTiger4872,and many others who played. The canasta marathon was exciting, challenging, and competitive. I HOPE GAME COLONY and TDS (who did a FANTASTIC JOB) WILL HOST ANOTHER MARATHON REAL SOON. Thanks. BlueSun

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
