Beginning on January 22, 2007 there will be tourneys aimed at NEW PLAYERS. All players are welcome at these tourneys—NEW PLAYERS AND VETERANS. Please be aware that these tourneys will run in a slower format than what the vets are used too.
A word to veterans this tourneys may start a few minutes late and may run longer than you are normally used too. The entry fee for these tourneys will be $1 tix. Each day at 6pm a tourney will be available in one of the game rooms—please watch tourney schedules for the game you desire. There will be a rolling schedule so that all tournament games will be covered. If you have never played in a tournament these tourneys will be excellent opportunity for you! If you have never purchased tickets, just $5.95 is enough to purchase tickets. If you need help with your first purchase please send a contact us and someone there will be happy to help you. These tournaments will give new players the opportunity to begin tournament play with no pressure—rules will be run slowly and all questions will be answered.

Hey new canasta players this is a GREAT opportunity for you to join the joy ) and sometimes heartbreak ( of tourneys. Either way tourneys are great fun. The Tournament Directors (TDs) are FANTASTIC people who go out of their way to help you and answer any questions you may have. I hope to see some of you in tourneys soon. If I can help a newcomer just send me a chat, and I'll be glad to share what I know. Good Luck in your games. BlueSun

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
