Canasta Players: Many of the top players in canasta originally could not get any of the top players to play them---except me. Many times players have told me that I am one of the FEW top canasta players who will give lower ranked players a chance to play against a player in the top twenty. To those canasta players who are often in the top twenty, I CHALLENGE you to play lower ranked players and give them a chance to climb the ladder just as I played MANY OF YOU and gave you a chance. I KNOW for a fact that many of the top players simply IGNORE lower ranked players frequently even when the player's rating is as high as their own. Let's be GOOD SPORTS and give EVERYONE a chance. Unless, of course, you are afraid of the competition. I'm NOT. How about you? Thanks, BlueSun

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
