why is it that everytime im below someone on the ladder they dont want to play...but as soon as i get ahead of them they want to play all of a sudden??? please let me kno..

lol i have same experience of this specially when it comes to 1 and 2 # 1 player runs away...well that's how it goes..that's why they make rules of challange and rank game...i play anyone no matter what ladder ranks are...others say this too but when it comes they act like others too..run away or excuses..well good luck to all in this month ladder!!!

This is a VERY FRUSTRATING PROBLEM.
I try to play anyone who asks for a game.
The only players I refuse to play are players who do exactly what you've stated above---
When I am ahead of them on the ladder, they ask and ask for games and I play them---
BUT when those same players get ahead of me on the ladder they REFUSE to play me.
My remedy is to LET THOSE PLAYERS KNOW that if I do them the COURTESY of playing them regardless of where I am on the ladder, then I EXPECT the same courtesy returned. If I don't get that courtesy, then I just don't play them any more.
The bottom line is this..........
A TRUE CHAMPION IS NOT AFRAID TO FACE ALL COMPETITORS.
I TRY to play like a true champion.
How about you other top ladder players?

I have the same problem and feel as Blue Sun does. I play those that will return the same. I have played all day many times when I am in one of the top positions, but I get mostly excuses or fast exits when I am not in top ten. There are only a few players that you can count on to play all the time. I DO NOT PLAY 2 CANASTA SO MY SOURCES ARE LIMITED.

Find it difficult to get people to play challenge game is my problem. Have bben playing on GC for over a year in both canasta and gin. I have NEVER gone down once in rank reduction because of refusal to play game.

According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
