In some of the leagues, that I play in, they play tournaments throughout the month, all the winners names are registered in a tourney at the beginning of the next month, its called tournament of champions, and to make sure others that want to play but didnt win a tourney, they get to play in the NON-TOC also, so its a real big tourney for both. Its just a thought, I personally dont play much in tourneys because I am not that good, but it seems like a way to let everyone in on it that want to be.

anyone can have a good day and the 'best' could have an off day.....Everyone is the best here, not just one player....some players have been playing longer than others and know the bones better....doesn't necessarily make one player better than any one else, just more experienced. Tournaments are for all players, and anyone can win. How many times have you seen a lower rated player win tourney. Happens all the time. Doesn't make him the best and doesn't make a higher rated player worse.
some may call it bad luck or good luck. So in the meantime, just remember, anyone has the potential to be better.....So I would say stop trying to figure out who is the best...because the best hasn't played yet...

who's the best - who cares

So you two can stay out of this tournament, but for the rest of the people who wants to have it don't let them ruin it for you. It's all for fun anyways, always remember that.

Oh dear

I realise how desperately you want to find out who is the best player and I don't mean to spoil it for you but as 1okaylady articulated it is nigh impossible. As was said everyone has off days and there is undoubtedly an element of luck/chance which all the best intentioned proprietary algorithms cannot remove. Also the best player may be one elusive player who only plays now and again and has no interest in the " king of dominoes" or whatever it was. Why don't you play the regular tournaments which, incidentally, I have taken part in many times and had lots of fun thankyou very much. Good luck in your quest for the royal domino genius.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
