What is going on people? Are you here to play pool or sit on your ladder ranking making the most of the glory while it lasts, hoping that you make it to the end of the month for a payout? I just can't understand this tactic, only makes the people doing it look soft. I could probably understand why people do it if they lost and swapped places with the lower ranking player, or even dropped at all. Win or lose, i'll play anyone, from the freshest noob to the best of them, it's the compitition that satisfies me. High rankers (Like some already do) should prove that they are worthy of their position instead of ignoring challenges. Ignorance will get you nowhere as my mother always told me. Ever notice how high ranking players are always up for a game when they need to climb that ladder? Don't let the pool lobby end up like the dominos lobby, which is about as exciting as watching paint dry while waiting for a game when you're rating is low. Let some newcomers break through, i'm not saying let them win but give them a challenging game atleast. Well i can only say how i feel and i'm doubtful anything will change. Would be nice to see something added to the game other than waiting days for a player to drop through an unplayed challenge. Can't we all just get along and be friends here ? Everyone needs friends, nobody needs enemies

And I know exactly how u feel, it's frustrating to always give these ppl games and not get same consideration. They are always nicey nicey when they the ones that want the game, then get two faced once they climbed over you. I tried to play a challenge recently and the player left the moment my table loaded, and then had the gall to type in challenge text box that I was the one who left the table lol. And to top it off, they are going to report me like it's all my fault. ( Is there no bottom to their duplicity?)Fortunatly, it's only a select few who do this (you know who u are!!!!), most players on the ladder will play anytime they are asked if they can. I for one will OFFER players below me a ladder match before they even ask, (many have witnessed this unusual behavior personally)simply because I already know they would like a shot at moving up just like i do. And i want to take opportunity to say a big TY to all the honest, decent players who always return the favor. I invite anyone to look at my record, and ask my friends about the nature of my sportsmanship. As for new players, they are the lifeblood of this site, let's welcome them when we see them, encourage them to stay, and help them out when we can, we were all noobs at one time......let's not forget that.

This is why i dont bother with the ladder anymore, history shows it draws tension arising many a argument, personally i think the system is flawed and has no meaning, but putting that aside there are two more pointers that really dampen the game. 1) You play a game but win, lose or draw they wont play again because they want to stick to ladder games. they try to justify this by explaining they want to give other people a chance, even if this means waiting (sometimes us both) 10-15 mins) without a game. big lol 2) You have a table vacant(not necessarily me) or you ask someone for a game but they choose to watch or hover as i prefer, like vultures over a table of high ladder rank waiting for a bite at the cherry. you only have to check there record to see this is no coincidence. There are decent folk who play anyone and give each a fair chance, they view the ladder as a side interest, but for some to take it to those extremes are fooling no-one but themselves. like my good freind put it "do you expect a monthly payout. I respect a mans free will and realize no-one is here to serve anyone else so i leave with this point.Play anyone and enjoy, if youre here for the points it will work itself out in the end. It is your fairnest and attitude towards the game that will earn your respect not your ladder ranking

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
