Where have all the flowers gone?

Come on, last 2 days of the month and the high rankers that are here daily have lives that have become extremely busy that there's just no time to play here.
OK maybe that could be the case this month seeing as it's the festive season and with the new year, but what I find hard to believe is the fact that a lot of new players, that know exactly how to place the ball and wipe the floor with most of their opponents, fall out of the woodwork.
I think this is another tactic to stop other players that could be potential risks to high rankers by getting close and taking their glory from them.
A way to get some games in and keep an eye on the payout position of the other account without showing their face so it's more believeable that they were too busy to play.
I guarantee that if they were to drop a few places, then they would be on the scene in no time.
It would be nice to see a quota of games that must be played for the top 10 worked out by an average of games played by the player over the week before they moved into the top 10, then if this is failed they drop a number of places depending on how many games were failed to be played.
A little harsh maybe, but in my eyes, would see the players that are worthy of remaining in these positions there, by using the skill they have for the game, the ones that make GC a fun place and giving it the credit it is due.
On the other hand it would weed out the players that just want to abuse the system.
Pool is a game of sportsmanship and you don't get anything in life unless you work for it.
I'm not tarnishing all the top 10 with the same brush, I know a lot of genuine players here and some may think that I'm way out of line, but can anyone positively say that this tactic doesn't exist?
Let me know what you think, maybe my conspiracy theories are just running wild yet again, or I'm just dreaming how to make things perfect, afterall nothing in the world is perfect, why should things here be any different?

Great Idea M8

............how about a shorter time for responding to the challenge board as well. After all, it takes playing at least every other day to get in and stay in the top twenty, if you can do it to get in, you can do it to stay in. If you have to take a drop, well ....you should be good enough to make a few spots up then, and it gives someone else a chance to see what they can do.

nice post

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
