We can be nice

I come today to the board with a heavy heart greatly saddened today after my victory against a fellow Canadian I did not receive the customary gg but instead received this comment "vertigo4u > All: when you finally deserve to be in the top 20 let me know" I am a nice friendly dragon and love playing I see no need for this type of behaviour.

NO NEED FOR THAT

Dragon there truly is no need for the kind of response you recieved--in one of my tournies in cribbage I had a player feeling very badly because of another players response---none of us can control what other people say--we can only make sure we are happy with what we ourselves say. I hope you find no more of this kind of player--some of us learned as children to be kind and polite--Please don't let this "person" spoil the game for you. Hope to see you in one of my tournies. Good Luck

I agree.

Dragon, sorry you had such a bad experience, but I think that is the exception--not the rule. However, for those rude players, I suggest you do what I do--just don't play them any more. Most players are really super though, which makes Game Colony so fun to play on. I hope you have better experiences in the future.

Whether you win or lose, kill them with kindness. It will rub off on someone. And enjoy your game.

same player, same attitude

Dragoncast, I understand your feelings. When I have played the same player you mention, he/she is somewhat gracious when winning, but is a very poor loser. I have never gotten a gg, or well done or anything of the sort after I win. Fortunately, the attitude of this particular player is somewhat limted as the vast majority of players are gracious in both victory and defeat.

being nice

You know, I agree with trying to be nice. I've developed my play enough to win more than I did in the beginning. I also lose regularly too. Can't we at least say good job or well done before leaving the room.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
