some of the TD's have us set for 1/2 min in tourneys, which seem to make the games go a littla faster. Maybe there is a good reason not to but why don,t all the TD's do it?

Hi ten.........i have set the 1/2 min in all of the tourney's i have played recently and no one has complained. I think an individule player would be the only one complaining if they had lag time, etc. So hopefully the 1/2 min will become the norm!!!!! your friend, kymb (kim)
good question

the default time is set for 1 min, i can be much easyer for us tds to leave it like that, tenz, instead of trying to tell all players to change it.when we start up tourneys we have a lot of other things to do tenz, like saying hi to players, making them feel welcome, making sure that all the players are in lobby.when u get 20 plus players its hard to keep track of thoses that are there, we all try to get tourneys started on time as so not to keep players waiting around, i think most players wud be happy to play 30 sec timer, so give it a go ( dont tell admin i said that tho)

I try to remember to set my tournies at the 1/2 timing. I have found a whole lot more players prefer it over the minute. I always make sure I post it several times before my tournie starts, so if a player does not feel comfortable with that setting, I can refund them before the tournie even starts.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
