New Canasta Ladder Rule
Posted by webmaster (moderator) 2 Aug 2009 11:02pm

To further improve the dynamics of the Ladder, the following rule was introduced:

Non-Ticket players who won one of Top Ten prizes during a previous month won't be allowed in Top Twenty in the following month.

different ladders?

Why not have seperate ladder for non vip since you really do not want non vip to have fair playing field. Of course they do not make you money, I understand that. Non Vip's already is at a disadvantage with the tourneys. But a seperate ladder would be great for non vip's

There will be no separate Ladders

There are a few advantages that Ticket players enjoy and more are being added. It takes $5.95 to create a Ticket account.

great rule

I fully support this rule as it has come to notice that some players have a non ticket alias that they do ladder with. It makes the tournaments more fun to get up the ladder and also makes the ladder challenge fun and competitive. Thanks I think you have a good point here. Alan

You are generalizing some people Phoenix...what about those that are not permitted by law to purchase tickets in their states jurisdiction...what are we to do?

Webs have been working on a new program that will include those who are unable to purchase tickets. Lots of funny and opportunity for everyone. Thanks to all for playing and for cooperation and consideration of the rules, terms and conditions, and your vigor for this great game!

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
