NEW 48 HOUR CHALLENGE RULING

Well, its caught on ... and the ladder has become somewhat of an exhausting experience. The real challenge as I see it is the same 3-5 ppl just keep challenging the same 3-5 ppl. How effective is that really? Any thots?

the ruling does not take into account the time difference between all the countries represented. do they expect us to get up in the middle of the night.

OK, If we have to meet these challenges in 48 hours dont you think webmaster should be around to moniter these games! so people cant stall when losing, or challenged people cant sit there at private table ask you to come then leave, or people resigning when you have no contoling them to do this. used to be 7 days lot better instead i have to come and play these games with these people. and ruin my day!

Being in Top Ten is supposed to be challenging. It is hard work and a time committment that pays off in the end when you get your end-of-month prizes. The ladder rules are designed to ensure fair play and are enforced automatically. GC staff is always happy to get involved in a challenge process or any other ladder issue, provided we are informed of it via Contact Us in a timely fashion.

According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
