Playing others in ladder

I know some of you have your favorites, and some of you have your dislikes. But ladder is about competition....healthy competition! Today I was on and 7 of the Top 10 Ladder players either ingored my invitation to play, or outright refused. I asked for a game and didn't even get a response back from anyone. It grows increasingly frustrating when you want to climb to the top of the ladder, and get consistently "blackballed"......There are some of you who I am friends with, and some of you who I am not, but aside from that I want to play everyone! Whether I am #1 on ladder or #200. The reason I am here is to play canasta. I enjoy the company of most people here and they enjoy mine as well, but we are losing the idea of what we are all here for. Fair Play, Fun, Integrity, and healthy competition with the best players on this site.
Let's keep that in mind!
Happy Holidays Everyone.....

I completely agree with Dealer. This topic always comes up and unfortunately it never seems to get resolved. It is unfortunate that people can't just play to have fun. People take this to seriously. Isn't there enough drama in the world and everyones day to day lives that we can't escape for a little while without dealing with it here also.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
