Not really the hand, but imagine if both held 7766 and the 8 was cut. With some well placed 9's and 10's the dealer could be in 3rd street after the 1st hand!!! Say a 16 crib not out of the question would have dealer ahead 66-32. I'm sure there's got to be way to get more than 66 possibly with a couple 24's or a 24 and a 29 but you also have to look at the feasibilty.

Not a 30 pt hand at all. Only the count (pegging) is 30 pts in that example.

When you talk "30-point hand" it is the number of points you have in your hand including the "cut" card; not what you peg with your hand.
But I must admit it is very nice to peg 30 points on top of the count of your hand. Love those hands !!!

Imagine both dealer and non-dealer are dealt 3-3-4-4-J-J. Both discard the J-J and a 5 gets cut. The play is 3, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 4. The dealer would peg 29 points, have 20 in the hand and 21 in the crib for a total of 70 points. Another possibility, not so likely would be non-dealer dealt 3-3-4-4-5-J and having no clue buries the 5-J. The dealer is dealt 3-3-4-4-5-5 and for some reason discards the two 5s. A five gets cut matching the discarded jack. The play is 3, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 4 again. The dealer gets 29 peg points, has 20 in the hand and 29 in the crib, for a total of 78. This is the highest hand I can think of.

Counting the hand is not the same as scoring the hand. The count (pegging to 31) is separate. You cannot get more than 29 when scoring a hand.
This is 30 points during play, not a 30 point hand!

The provided example shows the "play" of 30 points. If I do no consider the cut card, "count" of each hand is 8.
The maximum hand count is 29.
If you substitute 5s for the 7s and 2s (or As) for the 4s, then the dealer pegs 31.
excellent

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
