Hi Everyone,
Just a quick recommendation to make a change to the way that the announcements/shout outs for the Canasta tournaments ( well and all of the other games too ).
At the moment all TD messages announcing a tourny starting soon are not being displayed in ticket game rooms. I have been told by some TD`s that this is because the TD`s do not want to disturb the ticket games.
I strongly urge Game Colony to change that so that EVERYBODY gets the announcements and shout outs that a tournament is starting soon.
I am sure that this will make a better turnout for the tournaments.
Sometimes a ticket player is waiting for an opponent and as the usual blue messages in caps does not come to those tables that waiting player does not even know there is a tourny starting soon.
Opinions please.

Automatic ads

Automatic ads are generated by GC of all upcoming tourneys in all the rooms. These get posted in the tourney rooms as well. They are usually in another color and are done for all rooms right up to 8 mins before the tourney starts. This eliminates the TD from having to go to all the rooms to run ads. Take notice of it next time you are in a tourney room or main hall GoBigOne ... and thanks for suggestions. We always like suggestions.

Hi Pearle, thanks for your reply.
I really mean the Big Blue announcements in caps by the TD`s. So many Ticket players that I have spoken to about this say they didnt even know a tourny was on beause the hosting TD`s announcement in blue caps didnt come to their table.
I really believe it will create a better turnout for all tournys in all games.
Is there any chance that admin will at least consider trialling this?

No Table Advertisements

Sorry GoBigOne, but TD's are not permitted to go to the tables to advertise. This can be very disturbing to players trying to concentrate on their games. As Pearle said the auto ads are in all the rooms and very noticeable but they don't go to the tables either for the same reason.
For myself, I take a look at the pending tourneys for the games I'm interested in and jot the times down. This helps me. Anyone with other suggestions??

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
