When I first started playing here in 2001, everybody would say "gg" or "gl". Doesn't happen anymore. I still do it but all I get is silence. Doesn't matter what game. What happened to common courtesy? It doesn't take much to type gg or gl. Oh well, maybe it's my Marine Corps training or the fact I was raised to (even if my team in baseball lost) to shake hands and say "good game".

I totally agree with you texas, toooooooo many ignorant people about. Even if you can't type. gg or ty isn't that difficult.

you all know my feelings on this. I agree completely. Doesn't cost anything to say hi, gl, gg. You are right Texasrose ... just good manners. Sea

I have only been playing for about 5 months but I have always tried to make sure I say gg and gl an vgg and ty. I think of this place as being just like playing in person. I have not gotten to play in person in any cribbage tournaments but I know I would be unhappy to see someone not greet me or which me luck or to say good game. I am a workaholic and I find cribbage as a good way to have relaxation. Too bad others don't.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
