CHALLENGE A PLAYER AND NEVER TURN UP

Guys, why do some players put out a challenge and never really turn up to play it and let the challenge expire..? You drop some places for not committing any mistake. It is sooo upsetting especially when it happens on the last day of the month. This happened to me and I dropped to #12 from #4 for just being challenged. THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUSLY UNFAIR..

This doesn't need to happen. You should write in the challenge notes, offering another time and if they don't turn up, do a 'contact us' to game colony. Refer them to the challenge notes and they will remove the challenge before it expires if they think it is unreasonable.

I had given him a time range of 8 hours but what to do if he never replies..?? I can't wake up at 3 in the morning just to play a stupid challenge.
FYI- This has happened to 3 different people in 2 weeks, all from the same challenger.

Contact us is the way to go. Put the times in the challenge notes and GC will remove the challenge. I have had to do this several times in canasta. They DO listen.

It weems like it would be more fair if GC set it up so the challenger would lose points if they didn't show up. That would eliminate the temptation for anyone to put out a challenge with the intention of causing someone else to lose points. (Not saying that's what happened in your case vasudeva99). Not sure what the reasoning or logic is for having it set up that the person being challenged recieves the penalty & not the challenger...
Good idea

I for one agree with you Gemini. This happens all the time in a few of the games rooms. I think we should suggest it as a topic for discussion to game colony.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
