One for the top notch 20 on the ladder. Why is it that people play nothing but ladder games until they reach the top 20 and then only play non ladder games unless it's another top 20 challenge? That tells me that the player doesn't believe they should be ranking that high in the first place. Never used to be this way many years ago and it's one main reason why I hardly play here anymore. I miss the good old days of the fearless players that knew their way round the table. I wouldn't mind seeing GC forcing top 20 players to play nothing but ladder games as a way of keeping the ladder moving and to cut out all the picking and choosing of selective opponents. If you have the skills then use them instead of taking advantage of the loopholes. Why I'm bothering to write this here in the forum? I have no idea as it seems to be the same old post that I do from time to time and nothing ever changes. I'm not the best player here but win or lose, I'll play anyone and I just love to go for a tricky shot that I believe I can make even if it means losing the match if I miss. Can you say the same?
Agreed

Yes it's true. It is never a thoughtout decision to set my games as ladder games. No matter where I am on the ladder, I am a ladder player so I play every match accordingly. What would be the point otherwise, right!?!? Nothing is more frustrating than to play a top ladder player ... win and then realize they failed to make it a ladder game in the first place. You can almost feel them smirking. You should never have to ask a top 20 ladder player to make their table a ladder match!!! It's definitely rude and hinders on unsportsmanlike behavior.
I too miss the good ole dayz when the big dogs knew who they were, loved the competition of it all and were around all month long. Not this blowing in on the last five dayz of the month to do some damage. This room used to be fun ... VERY FUN! Why not now, GC? What needs to happen to entice us to stay, eh?

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
