For Funning or Running

There seems to be a relatively unfamiliar mindset developing here in the spades room. Since I was one of the first players to even occupy this room, I can swear that just playing for the "fun" of it was never the norm. We had really goooooood players who loved playing tix games and running the ladder simultaneously. There were very few bluecoats around, but they had a purpose. To win. We now appear to have a flurry of bluecoats who either won't or don't want to play for tix. And that's fine ... I get that being a VIP for you is all about avoiding the nuisance of advertising banners. (I guess?) But for us oldies but goodies, please allow us to have an agenda ... winning and running the ladder. It is ACTUALLY funnnnnnnnnnnnn for some!!!!!!!

I like your spirt Baddd. But as a TD I would love to host tourneys for players that love to play and play the ladder. But having set tourneys in the past and (just wasting my time) talk to you other VIP players and let me know what time you would like tourneys and how many tix. And just so you all know I am a Sorry TD because I follow rules and will start or cancel on time. Scopeman

I'd love to see tourneys here, mid evening perhaps? I can't for the life of me see why more people don't play spades. It's such a fun game, and tourneys would certainly shake up the ladder!

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
