Blues vs. Blacks

Ever wonder if the money players on average are better players than the free players or vise versa? It might be fun to set up a "Ryder Cup" of cribbage between the top players in each group. Maybe the top 20 players by winning percent (based upon a minimum number of games) in each group (blues vs. blacks) could play each other round robin to see who has bragging rights.

Yes all of us on this site love cribbage. It is unpredictable, exciting, frustrating, and fun. However people play for different reasons, some just to be social and enjoy the endless game situations, and some for the thrill of competition and to be the best they can be. Alot of players take pride in their winning percent, ladder ranking, and ratings. For these, I think it would just be another fun way to compete. Your friend too, SAWYER1.

There are some players on the free tables who are very skilled. Some of them realize in order to come out ahead on the money side, you need to win more than 55.5 percent of your games, which excludes the vast majority of players. Wolverine, you probably do a little better than break even, but not much.

I think a tourney would be good fun. I don't class myself any better than any other player. Just because I play for tix......more fool me......I've lost quite a bit I can tell you. However it is fun and it's cheaper than smoking or being an alcoholic......bring on a tourney I say Jazz

There are many good players on this site some of us just like to put a little in the pot. This is a great idea and I would support it.

55.5

not many over 55.5 and you only need to be above 52 for big tix to make money. Anyone feel free to join I'll always play, but you need to buy tix. Long tourney though would be necessary say 4 wins, 25 tix entry.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
