New Ladder Challenge Rule

Starting November 2nd, 2011, both the challenger and the challenged party will receive a ladder penalty for not playing a challenge. Each player's rank will go down 8 rungs.

Sounds good to me. I'd suggest even 100 rungs lol.

WB ... if u show in the challenge area u were repetitively available to play off the challenger, and u request a review of the record, will this still be enuff to prevent your own dropping?

Excellent decision GC. This rule is advantageous for those who choose to play ladder with intent to "play" Too bad some players are negative.

A challenger issues a challenge and then does nothing, but the challenged party keeps notes every day, tries to offer different times, etc. Such challenge will be removed with no penalty to the challengee,BUT the challenger will be dropped 8 rungs.

Good response GC! It did seem unfair for the 'chalengee' to be penalized for not playing the challenger if they tried to be available but never encountered the challenger. Thx

good change

it is a good decision all together, but unfortunately it might not be helpful against those tactful "last days of the month sort of challenges" still the top ladder players will find places to hide their face at the end of the month

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
