2 out of 3?

It sure would be nice if Gamecolony would program in a 2 out of 3 option for cribbage. Too many win one and then quit.

This has been requested many times. I do not know why GC won't provide this option, but it sure would be nice.

Could it not be done on either 3 or 5 basis, we can set the table for 5 or 6 cards 61 or 121, which the oponent can see, I would certainly like the option.

Please Game Colony - would you give us a reply? Do you intend to create a 2/3 3/5 option or not??

2/3 & 3/5 options
Posted by webmaster (moderator) 17 Sep 2012 1:29pm

At GameColony, we are not quite clear yet regarding the details of the requested 2/3 & 3/5 options (aka multi-game matches). Your input welcome:

(1) For Ticket play with the multi-game match, would the entry fee be one single upfront fee for match or per individual game?

(2) Would there be any tangible difference between, say, a 2/3 match and a longer-point game e.g. for 363 points (3 x 121) ? The latter being
far easier for us to implement as the proportional game settlements would not have to be changed....

2/3 and 3/5 options

Come on Game Colony. Are you going to create a 2/3 and 3/5 option or not??

best of 3,5,7
Posted by webmaster (moderator) 9 Oct 2012 4:32pm

Best of 3,5,7 matches sound good and probably not particularly difficult to implement if all of the details are known and agreed to.

However:
(*)nobody here addressed the previous question regarding the details of Ticket play for such matches:
- per game fee or per match fee?
- what happens if someone leaves in the middle of such a long match?
- could such match option be misunderstood by one of the participants?

Our suggestion is for equivalent option(s) that will be easier to understand :
- longer single games e.g. for 363 points (3 x 121) ?

What's the problem GC? When are you going to create 2/3 and 3/5 options like you said you would last year? It's obvious that's what so many of your membership wants you to do. Please?

2 out of 3 would be nice 3 or 5 or whatever per game

Posted by whitey712 (VIP) 19 Dec 2012 9:48pm

2/3 or 3/5 with one upfront fee. If they leve during the 2/3 or 3/5 they forfeit the fee, same as if they leave during a one game match.

We plan to implement a 2/3 option in Spring, 2013

Thank you for your suggestions. We plan to implement a 2/3 option this coming Spring.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
