Some of you may have noticed the return of some old faces. I,m relatively new to this site but why do these players not show respect to players they dont even know ! some think it is ok to play someone above them for 1-2 or 3 point games then once above on ladder set unreasonable games of 6 points! I for one think this is sole reason the pool room loses players as there is with some total lack of sportsmanship and respect its not as if GC pay vast amounts of prize money and if your good enough to reach top ten then why do this ? so come on lets not forget this is a FUN pastime and not a battle of wits

I come from a era where " good shooters " played 8 ball 3 pt. and 9 ball 6 pt. " ALL " the time. Maybe your new here. If you play " 100 " games a week. You can play " 1 " match of 9 ball 6 pt.

well funny you climb ladder by playing players 1-3 point games then soon as your in top 5 you want to set 6 point games and proceed to tell players they are welcome to challenge if they wish to play you ! good shooters have respect and will play anyone and give anyone a chance to climb ladder regardless of rank!
Ok.

I never played 1 pt. for " Ladder " just for rating. Please stop saying that. I played #1 & #2 in 8 ball 3 pt. I'm not good in 8 ball but I wasn't gonna expect them to set 9 ball or make it 8 ball 1 pt. Just so I can have a " chance " to climb ladder lol. People enjoy winning over losing. Simple.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
