Collectively I have to believe we are. You hear many people refer to GC as family. If that is true, then I belong somewhere in the grandmother category.
There is a disturbing event unfolding in the pool hall. Someone is being abused. She arrived just awhile ago. She only plays for tickets. And as a beginner, she doesn't play well. I have tried to reach out to her to encourage her to play non-tix games until she gets better, but she doesn't respond to my messages. I do not know if there is a language barrier.
Bear in mind, I, too, jumped on this newbee when she first arrived. But my conscious just won't allow it any longer. For heaven's sake ... look at her stats. Stop taking advantage of the situation ... it is (I hope) below us.

I don't under stand what is going on with her I have played her she is getting better but that is NO reason for some to take advantage of her
she did ask in tournement about the ti\ourniment and we responded to her she did thank us for letting her know I tryed to talk to her today but she never responded she even started a game not tix and then left it and started a tix game and invited me to it
and the grandma part think I am a grampa in here also every one please don't take advantage of new ones and help them get started so we can all injoy what is here for us ty

It's hard to figure other people out, some would say impossible......I'd like to hear from the horses mouth myself what's going on. I can't agree with this "abuse" part since to me it seems people are being invited to play. Who knows? I've played this person myself , was invited to table and kept being asked for another game, which I played several of. We chatted a bit and she seems very nice. But I do agree we should help new players , but they have to want it first. Tricky subject and not enough facts really. I am learning you have to accept things as they are and not as you wish them to be. All we can really change is ourselves, and hope we are a good influence on the people we encounter. I know I've kind of rode the fence here, but until the fence talks it's hard to tell which way to jump ......

speaks volumes one takes a look at player in question s game log and not surprised who has been taking advantage !! and dont hold much hope these tics will be offered back to the player whatsoever !!its a shame!!

According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
