You all know I play almost all tournaments offered. I have seen lots of unique styles and strange happenings, believe me! However, I am still amazed when seasoned ladder climbers leave the room when an obvious loss is in play. Making an opponent wait ANY LENGTH OF TIME to capture their deserving win is the utmost insult. I do make mental notes when unsportsmanlike behavior like this occurs to avoid that player at all costs. It's not only rude to me, but rude to the entire tournament who must wait because you were a sore loser. Get over yourself and man up!

Good for you Girl. We both know who you're talking about because he's done it to many of us. In any case I'm told he will be outed from all tournaments from now on. Just as well because I won't play if he's in.

According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
