Some of you VIPs don't bother with tournament play. As a fellow ladder climber I don't understand the hesitancy.
Are you aware that if you played say #1 ladder earlier in the day, that playing #1 ladder again (even within the 24 hour limit) and providing it is in a tournament, will count again? Do you realize you receive ladder points for each rival you play in a tournament regardless of whether you just played them in the main room? Do you even understand ladder points? Accumulating them (30 points) will automatically move you up one ladder rung. That every 5+ ticket match you play will give you a ladder point, which is why I don't bother sitting at all your 2 and 3 ticket tables. Waste of my resources! I love the diehards who attempt to make every tournament a TD takes time to offer count. You guys know who you are and I personally tip my hat to your perseverance. Now hopefully others will join us and make this the exciting card game where skill matters.

Let me explain. There simply is no urgency to play in them. I have yet to play in a tournament, yet have finished in the top 10, 11 out of the last 13 months, The 2 months that I didn't was mostly due to lack of connection! I have suggested to spicii that the ladder should be once a week...Monday through Monday, with tournaments throughout the weekend, and that the prize awards be for the top 5 only. 5,4,3,2,1. I agree with you that Canasta is a great game....the greatest in my opinion! My name is Adrian and love playing all of you.

I respect tournament directors for the effort they have made to keep tournaments alive. But no one wants to play tourneys nowadays. About the reasons for that. eheh! Things...

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
