We tried an incentive to bring more players to join tourneys early, the Early Bird Award; however, it doesn't seem to have had the effect we were hoping for, so we will try to focus on other incentives in the future. We are open to suggestions if anyone has any.

Why not try a Point system. Each player recieves a point for each tournament that they enter and winner of the tournament gets an extra 2 points. Tally up each players points at the end of the week and award them 10 tix or whatever..

Maybe something like this might prove something if an incentive... Whenever a player attends 10 tourneys of the same buy in amount, they get to a free spot in a tourney of the same buy in amount. So, if I attend 10 3tix tourneys, my next 3 ticket tourney entrance is free.

A support the armed services tourney. A percentage of the total of participant's goes to the Red Cross. Or, as it Christmas time, the Marine Corps has Toys-for-tots, and I just read that the toys for tots semi in KC had a semi full of toys had been stolen.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
