OCTOBER TOURNEY OF CHAMPS HAD 40 ELIGIBLE PLAYERS, AND 9 PARTICIPATING IN THE TOURNEY. WINNERS WERE: 1st Place: DevinsCat - won 49.00 Tickets
2nd Place: Bigsillygrin - won 26.00 Tickets

Hi.
Only 9 (nine) participans ?... out of 41... that is less than 22%. No one at GameColony can improve that ? Maybe some decent hour or day for this Tournament, so players from diffrent time zones can play ? Or maybe some Tickets for second place ? In no other sport in the world, just the winner gets the prize...

COCO.. GLAD TO HAVE YOUR INPUT! WE HAVE DONE SOME FORMAT ADJUSTMENTS AND TIME ADJUSTMENTS DUE TO COMPLAINTS FROM A FEW MONTHS AGO. BUT WE SURE ARE WILLING TO MAKE ANY CHANGES THAT MIGHT INCREASE THE NUMBER OF PLAYERS.. DIFFERENT DAY / TIME / OR WHATEVER WOULD HELP. I AM GOING TO POST ASKING FOR PLAYER IN PUT ON WHAT WOULD WORK BETTER FOR THEM!!
THE TOURN OF CHAMPS PAYS OUT PRIZES LIKE ALL OTHER TOURNEYS. THERE IS ALWAYS A 1ST AND 2ND PLACE TICKET WINNER (THIS MONTH 1ST PLACE WAS 49 TIX, AND SECOND PLACE WAS 26 TIX.) IF THERE ARE MORE PLAYERS, THE TOURNEY CAN AWARD 3RD OR 4TH PLACES ALSO. THE 1ST PLACE WINNER IS THE ONE THAT GETS THE BONUS OF THE ADDITIONAL TIX FOR THE WIN... BUT 1ST AND 2ND PLACE DO GET THE STANDARD TOURNEY PAYOUTS (AND PRIZES TO MORE PLAYERS IF THERE ARE ENOUGH PARTICIPATING)

Not to be on the weekend. Perhaps a rotating schedule that involves evenings (like 9pm EST). Too many people are doing too many things on the weekends to participate. Just my two cents.

According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
