Check the settings of the table, if it is set as a non-rated game you will not see your rating change. The table will be set with -R designation.

G'Day Jimmymac. Ratings are spelled out under the help section. Here is the excerpt: Rating Issues
The rating system follows the published official formulas of USCF (United States Chess Federation) ELO calculation. If there is a significant difference in ratings, and the higher rated person wins, ratings may not change at all. New players start with the rating of 1400. There is a special formula for the first 20 games for provisional rating calculation. Provisional players can ramp up their rating faster. If you win against a provisional player, you may not see any increase in rating.

I'm wondering how can someone get a rating over 2000 loosing more games then winning game?

If you never play a player with a rating under yours, your score will never decrease. That's how. Ignore rating points. Play for ladder or for tix or for fun. I'll sell you all my rating points for $1 and have them transferred to you. That's how meaningless they are.

It would be nice if everybody would ignore rating points but 99% of players don't. I get baned of almost all games from players with a higher rating.

Tix players never, ever look at ratings when they are playing for tix. You might consider that option.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
