Can GC have age ranking? Younger people have less experience in chess (like me, im only 14 years old) and I think it would be more fair for less experienced players.

I myself am 14 years-old but I've beaten a lot of experienced players. My rating is about 1840 now. I am not bothered if this happen but i'd be interested to see who the best in our age range is. On the downwards side of things, I think some people might put a younger age than they are and get to the top of 1 of the younger age rankings.

Dude, age means nothing. I know a guy who started playing at 12 and could mate (at 14-15) one of the best 1/0 players (Negative_Externality - at yahoo chess) in 1/0 or 1/1. It's all about the time and dedication that you have.

Age counts for NOTHNIG in chess there are about 20 grandmasters who achieved the title by the time they were 14. And as for the timers you want to compare against others younger people have a much bigger advantage.

I know age means nothing, but it would be good if we had age rankings, and as for 1/0 1/1 games, chess isnt supposed to be a fast game, its supposed to be a thinking game!

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
