accidental resignations

why is it that if u accidentally catch certain keys on the keyboard ,the 'are u sure u want to resign ' box comes up.??? This just cost me 5 tix in a game Opp was 2-0 up in a 3pt game ,i was bearing my last men off with him having no chance of winning ,this box popped up and i thought he was resigning, however it was this infernal'do u want to resign box'!!!!! and of course i mistakenly pressed 'yes' and he unsportingly accepted(and then rapidly left the room!!) Would it be possible to introduce an extra safegaurd against this as it isnt the first time this has happened to me or ,im sure,to other players????
Perhaps a quick match analysis before allowing the resignation in ticket matches perhaps???

Are you sure you want to resign?

Thanks for your report.
The dialog Are you sure you want to resign? was programmed to appear only after pressing the 'Resign' button. The default answer is 'No'.
'Resign' button (and any other command button on the right hand side) will appear in focus when Tab key is pressed in succession so that subsequent pressing of Enter key will invoke the dialog.
We'll check if the focus shifts to this button when it's not supposed to.
Additionally, we'll look into what extra safeguards can be put in place.

it may be something to do with my(UK) keyboard setup, but this happens quite often to me.Its definitely something to do with the space bar .
Quite often i might be typing a message out in chat, look up to the screen to find this 'resign' dialogue box staring at me and none of the text i just typed appearing in the chat send area-very annoying! especially as im not exactly the worlds fastest typer!!
hope u can help

Space bar

Space bar will work just as Enter key if it is used (together with the Tab key) to select different elements within a window.

When you used some special keys (like Tab key) when you were typing, the focus shifted away from message window.

We'll look into extra safeguards regarding resignations.

Darn Stratos, how come I am one of the unlucky ones. You have never done that to me. Oh well, hope it gets cleared and doesn't happen again. You might want to put that opponents name on the site in face of poor sportsmanship.

Good Luck

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
