I had a 4pt game with this player, he was up 2-0 then on our 2nd game he offered me the cube about halfway through the game, I took it and offered the cube right back to make the game worth 4pts and the match. As I was bearing off and about to win the match, this player tried 3 times to abort the match. I rejected it each time. then i see I lost the game. I e-mail the game to myself and notice that the 3rd time he did'nt offer a abort but it was the double cube again.. maybe I did'nt read the offer well and click the NO button again. he has been reported. but if anyone else out there has had similar problems, I would love to hear about it. Thanks Screener

First, it is a good idea to READ what your opponent proposes. Abort button in an Abort dialog has red around it to make it look different from doubling dialog ... but instead of a knee-jerk reaction in pressing buttons, we suggest reading the opponent's proposals.
Second, if you do not want the same proposal from the opponent, before answering 'NO', take a moment to select a checkbox 'Do not ask the same question again!'
Third, report your disputes via Contact Us within 24 hours.

GC took a disciplinary action against the player in question. The player has now returned & GC expects that this will be a very polite player from now on.

to the webmaster (Moderator) your right the offer box does have a red colour text print on Abort. but did you also know that the Double Button Box also has the same colour text and looks very close to the same box as the Abort box. Maybe it would be a great idea to change one of the Boxes all red with white text font. so we know the differnce from them without reading.. do you think I read the STOP on a Stop sign or look at it and know what it is without reading it?
Good suggestion!

We'll consider adding some graphical elements to these dialogs or somehow making sure that the players would distinguish them better

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
