first off tourneys are for VIP players only, sorry =( that means you need to purchase tickets or win them on ladder play by placing in the top 10 of ladder. The act of joining a tourney once you have tickets is easy!! once you go to the canasta main page there is a list of tourneys to play in, also a count down for the time that they take place at, to join one just click the blue part of tourney discription, not calculate, and it will bring you to that tourneys page..once you are there all you need to do is click sign up, this page also shows you other players that are signed up and you can click calculate to figure out the prizes for any number of players before the tourney starts!! This tourney page is also helpful once the tourney starts because it shows the players the brackets and you plays who =) hope this helps

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
