I can see what is trying to be done by setting a 1 tix tourney for 'first time players only' but today I went to see what was available...signed up for the 60 pm because it was a time I was going to be able to play,(hadn't even looked at the entry fee) and then had to withdraw after looking closer and seeing it was for 'first time players only'
Have to admit I was disappointed, but will find a game in Main when I have the time.
Keep up the good work 1okaylady..it's obvious you are trying to get canasta going. But can't the first time players join with the rest of us...most are better players than I am.

Thank you for your frankness and honesty. The only reason I had one tix tourneys for new players only because sometimes they feel intimidated and afraid to try something new. That is all. So for your inconvenience, you tell me the date/day and the settings you prefer and I will host that tourney just for you, for 1 tix.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
