Three successful brotheres were bragging about the gifts they'd given their elderly mother for her birthday.
'I bought her a new car and hired a permanent chauffeur,' said one.
'I built her a new house,' crowed the second.
'That's nothing,' sniffed the third. 'You now how Mama's been sad since her failing eyesight keeps her from reading the Scriptures? Well, I bought her a parrot that can recite the entire Bible. It took 20 priests 12 years to teach him and I had to pledge $100,000 a year for 20 years. But now all Mama has to do is name a chapter and verse and the parrot will recite it.'
When their mother sent out her thank-you notes, this is what she wrote:
'Marvin, I'm too old to drive. I have my groceries delivered. And, the driver you hired is a Democrat. But, thanks.'
'Milton, this house is just too big. I live in one room, and still have to clean the whole thing. But, thanks.'
'Dearest Melvin, you are the only one who put any thught into your gift. That colorful little chicken was just delicious.'

According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
