Change of Name - Darlangelkarma - Heatherrose

Up until very recently I did not know you could change your name. I would watch the ladder and see people appearing in the Top 10 that weren't there the day before. I thought this very strange so I emailed GC to find out what was going on. Thats when I found out that you could change your name. So I have given it a whirl to see what it would be like. I have already had a few people ask me - Is that you Heatherrose? To which I reply yes it is (and feel a little silly that I changed my name at all lol). So I will change my name back to the original as soon as I am allowed to do so. Now that I am aware you can change your name it is surprising how many people also do this. ... For those of you who, like me, didn't know you could change your name, this might clarify a few things for you.
Regards Heatherrose (Darkangelkarma)

No you do not lose points or ladder ranking - all you are doing is changing your name - everything else stays the same.
Like you I am learning a lot of new things too lol

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
