What a FANTASTIC incentive to encourage increased participation. It's obvious that a lot of time & thought went into developing this new Ladder 'program' for our benefit. However, in my (humble)opinion, $5 for the mini-tournaments is a bit steep....As I interpret it, it is per game, not cumulative...right? Regardless, I look forward to climbing the ladder again in July & months to come. TYVM for FUN games & a wonderfully managed & very creative game site.
We'll be tuning the Ladder as we go

Listed Ladder Points for Tourneys & Mini-Tourneys represent our initial estimates - they may have to be tuned per game. For example, 5$Ticket games in Gin are far below average while same entry fee in Canasta is above average. However, average Ladder boost from mini-tourneys may be still equalized among the players within the game...
Fantastic!

Congratualtions on the advanced incentives to encourage more tournament play and create new opportunities at month end in case the top players don't play the last few days. Does that mean 1st is now 50 tix and second place is still 8 tix?
If so, would you consider making the last few top ten spots more valuable instead of 1 tix and 1.5 tix. I suggest 10th-2 tix, 9th 3 tix etc so 2nd place is worth 10 tix and first whatever you want. Getting into the top ten is still very difficult and less than that is hardly a reward. ty
Your new ladder points is a great move and adds a lot to the end results. Congratulations.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
