I have met the most wonderful UK friends, anyone could know, here at Game Colony. My heart goes out to everyone who has been affected by this most horrible event...I hope and pray that all my UK friends and families, especially, are well and all the recovering from the awful event...We know that only cowards could do something like this. I am saying prayers for everyone. I am crying myself, as I know others are for all our UK partners. BECAUSE we are all family and afflicted by this tragic event. It's hard to find the right words to express to everyone, just know that my care and concern is genuine.
So those of you who can come and play, maybe just for some moments of escape, let's have some fun, to bring back the smiles in this time of tragedy. I am proud to call each and everyone of you, my friend.

I live in London, was on a tube and a bus this morning. Fortunately an hour earlier than the bombs. Kept the restaurant open, had the news on tv all day. It was a refuge for all the people in our area. All the shops in Mayfair closed, Bond St. Piccadilly etc. We were mobbed!! It was a strange enviroment. It wasn't as morose as I thought it would be. Everybody was shocked and appalled of course. BUT there was also an admiration for the emergency services and the way they handled the situation. It felt like the whole of London was united as one. It's probably the closest that I'll get to the Blitz Spirit. We're a resilient lot us Londoners. I'll be at work tomorrow feeding the masses.
May the Crib be with You Brothers and Sisters.

It is kind of our American friends to express their feelings about this terrible tragedy especially as they are probably still coming to terms with their own feelings in the aftermath of 7/11.I was speaking with my very good friend Theresa (T_N_T plays)earlier this morning and I did not tell her of my concerns for my son who is a driver on the underground as I knew she would be worried .She is that kind of caring person.I heard from him shortly afterwards to say he was OK.Thank God. You know gchief ,he is not a Londoner and I imagine that a great many of the victims and workers were not Londoners too. I remember my dear old Gran saying to me 'You'll get a better note out of that trumpet if you let someone else blow it for you ' God bless you all for you prayers WILKIEBOBS PS We have all had reason to bemoan the mobile phone but at times like this,What a Godsend.

I returned from my holiday only yesterday morning and the first I heard was from a nurse at the hospital I was at due to a sprained ankle. The hospital was preparing to receive patients from the London hospitals to free up space. I had a desperate few hours trying to contact my sister and my friends living in London. Luckily I did get hold of them and they are all fine. My sister decided not to take a job yesterday so she could wait for a delivery. Had she not done this she would have been on the tube at the time of the bombings and at Kings Cross. I can only thank god that she decided against working. Londoners and the British in general are a resilient lot, we didn't let the IRA stop up from going about our everyday lives and this won't stop us either.
Thanks to everyone who has sent us their love and prayers, it is truly appreciated.

From coast to coast, country to country, those of us who pray for peace are so saddened by what has happened to our friends in England. Let us all serve as the eyes and ears for those around us. If there is every anything that I can do to help, please know that I will.

I tried to write a response to this yesterday. The words would just not (and still do not) come. I think you all know my feelings about those who commit actions for the sole purpose of doing harm to others.
At 50AM yesterday morning I was awakened by the news report of this attack. It was hard to separate the feelings of deep sadness and concern from those of anger. What a senseless and cowardly act! Back and forth my mind wandered from the twin towers in New York to the transit systems in London. These victims were working or making an attempt to get to their jobs. “What is it those people hate so much; our governments, our religions, our prosperity?” No, I don’t think so. It is our freedom which they despise and are making an effort to destroy. They lost before they even began.
The British have been through far worse. There was a day when they were bombed almost daily as the nazis were also demonstrating their extreme hatred for a talented, intelligent and FREE people. They will come through this tragedy with even more resolve and a stronger independence.
I was in London for the funeral of Diana. I have witnessed the resolve and the unity of these people in difficult times and can assure you they are not weak, nor afraid. They have fought shoulder to shoulder with American men and women in every conflict since our independence and continue to be our allies in cooperation and in peace.
On behalf of GameColony, the Webmasters and the Admin team I extend my deepest sympathy to those who have been and who will be affected by this great loss. Personally I want to thank each of those among the players and the TD team who made a point to contact someone just to say “Hey.. I’m ok over here”. We care about our “folks” and we appreciated your taking the time to let us hear from you.
As an American I can guarantee you British…….we will stand with you in the final defeat of those who despise our freedom and who would have us all in bondage as are they in bondage!

And all countries portrayed America as being 'bad' for the war in Iraq. Now we see that no country is safe from terriny (sp). All should get together and stamp out this hatred for any religious (sp again) group. I hate to say this but as Rodney King said 'Cant we all just get along?'

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
