Swiss Tournaments

Hi my fellow tourney players.....
I am looking to see if there is any interest in SWISS TOURNAMENTS.

1. All players will play each round...
2. The next round is not started until ALL players have finished the current round.
3. At the end of the game, if the scores are equal, the winners are determined based on the players' 'Win Margin' -- by how many points they won over their rivals (totalled for all games). The Win Margin can be also negative if the player lost more points than he/she won. If both the scores and the Win Margin are the same the winner is determined by rating.'

PLEASE LEAVE ME A POST IF OR IF UR NOT INTERESTED.

THANKS, 1okaylady

I am NOT in favor of Swiss Tourneys. In fact, there is a mis-statement in your description. The only time everyone playes every round is when there are the correct number of players so that no one gets a bye.

Anyone who gets a 'bye' has a distinct advantage in this format.

If you always have the proper number(s) so that no one gets a bye, then I would play.

This is just my personal opinion.

Thank you for the opportunity to comment.

Sincerely,
Bob 'Moojus' Milk

I stand corrected

Moojus, yes, I stand corrected.

Odd number of players, there will be a 'bye' worth 1 pt.

Even number of players..every one will get to play each round.

Each win is worth one point.

I am just trying to see if there is an interest. The Swiss tourneys are doing great in pool....so I am just trying to see if there is enough interest to try in cribbage.

thanks again, moojus

Just a curtious reply. I think we are taking on enough new variations on the game. Let's get comfortable with these, before we go and add another. Just my opinion. To each his own they say. Either way,

This is not a new variation, T_N_T_plays...this is 121 reg crib..Swiss tourneys are an option of regular tourney play, just rarely done.

For all those interested, look in archives in the pool tourneys (madoolin, would be the td) and look for swiss tourney and look at the brackets. just an fyi

WHAT????

I'll play whatever tourney Okaylady wants to do -- regardless of what it is -- a great time is had in whatever tourney Okay hosts. So if it's there and whether I know how to play it I know I'm guaranteed a fun time -- as always.
Thanks for thinking of us and putting it out to the group for a vote -- that'w what makes you an awesome TD okay -- always looking out for the players and trying to accommodate their needs. We love you. You are 1OKAYLADY!!!

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
