Hi okaylady. Great idea but its too early in the month after all the challenges to play before month end. Might suggest greater tournout for players trying to move into the top ten at the end of the month. A marathon is a great way to make up a lot of ground. Has more value the last 10-12 days of the month. Just a thought. I will try ot make one or two but at the end I might make a lot more to improve my ladder chances if that was a goal. Some others might think the same way. GL to u and glad to see u back to hosting some canasta tourneys.
I think it's more than a great idea but ....

We should all be grateful for the time you are putting into hosting tourneys -- REGARDLESS of whether it's at the end of the month or the beginning of the month. I don't think the idea was so people could just climb the ladder, I think the intention was for all to have fun and get the opportunity to play canasta tourneys at a low and reasonable amount. If your purpose is just to climb the ladder, then maybe this marathon isn't for you. I'll be there for the fun and a great big thank you to you, Okaylady, for giving up your time for us.

I agree with the generous time spent for a marathon and thank okaylady right away. I am simply hoping that the tourneys go and it isn't a lot of wasted time since some players don't play much at the beginning of the month. Hope to see u there and intend on trying to make a few.

Welcome to marathon Sunday...Pearle and I are hosting all day tourneys at an unbelieveable price, only 2 tix.........these tourneys are fun and another way to meet new friends and have some fun, and yes , perhaps you can earn and win some tix.....
We have a lot of new tix players and this is one way to encourage everyone to come and enjoy this Sunday, because if we are here, at least it means to me, that I/we can't afford the gas prices to go anywhere. So how else can we have fun on this Labor Day Weekend, than celebrating with tournaments...
Hope to see a lot of new faces....We will show you the tourney ropes without embarrassment.
Just tell Pearle or I, 1okaylady, that you are new..and leave the rest to us..
Again, thank you for attending, even one, and remember for EACH tourney you play, your name will be entered in the 25 tix drawing.

According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
