First and foremost people, and you know who you are, this is a GAME.
three times I have engages a certain player in a game. when she was winning, all was well; the 2 games she was seriously behind, she 'disconnected'. Sure, I got the win, I didn't really care, I object to having to wait 5 minutes because someone is so petty about losing.
Well, thanks for the opportunity to vent, lol
I agree

Ok, so I admit that sometimes I will resign when I know I am going to lose, but I never just disconnect and make the opponent wait for the win. If I do not finish the game, the least I can do is hand the win over immediately. It really is irritating when you have to sit and wait forever because someone feels like being a jerk.

uh oh... I gotta admit. I sometimes resign too but I always do it nicely. Like 'in the interest of time I will resign.. very nice playing'.. The truth is I cannot stand to see all those points going up. hehe.
Seriously you are absolutely right. It is unfair and unsportsman to desert the opponent who has to wait for a long time to fairly get the win. Why not just nicely resign?

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
