Black background in time field
Posted by jaskakurusta 7 Feb 2006 1:19pm

Hello,
The field that shows the time left for black is utterly black in my browser. Can's see the time, which is obviously annoying in blitz. Seems like it has black letters on black background. This may have something to do with my browser or with my Java Runtime?

Anybody experienced the same? Any ideas to fix the thing (other than changing browser)?
My browser is Firefox rowser on Mac.

Jaska

Please select Control Panel/Display/Settings.
Here, if the color is set to 'True' or 32-bit color, change it to 16-bit color (or 'High' color).

Can't see own time

Also on a Mac, using Safari - cannot see time. When playing as black, time is black text on black background. Changing color as advised above is not possible in the way described - that would only work for a PC

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
