Continuing Computer Observation of Phenomenon Posted by GAJD3 (TD) Aug 20 2006 10:30PM Hi to all, I have been watching the count down tourney time on the respective game home page v the count down time on the tounrey sign up page are different, sometimes by a few seconds other times by a few minutes. Hence, has anyone had or noticed this phenomenon? I am going to continue monitoring(switching back and forthe before tourney starts).Further, I am not sure yet if this may be related to any comptuer, "lock up", "freeze", graphic, text display problem and or related software issue. Once a day all clocks on all internal machines are synchronized from a single secure internal machine. The discrepancies in seconds can occur for multiple other reasons as well -- e.g., before local countdown starts, seconds are dropped on web page displays after transmission, etc. These minor differences do not result in any errors or lock-ups. A very slow local count-down, however, may be an indication of a local browser problem. |
